PageRank (PR), Some Online Terms And Definitions

In the end, PageRank will help your position in the SERPs.... "Then how's it not important?", you ask. It's important, but it should happen naturally. That's my point.

PageRank is volatile and changes just like all of Google Algorithms.

Google is in a continuous state of change so if you are obsessed with figuring something out, by the time you do, it's no longer a valid conclusion.

So how can you make it happen naturally?

•    Create good content and people will link to you without you even asking!

•    You can seek out exchange partners.


 If you do, make sure their website compliments your sites theme. 

Google has a love affair with relevancy.

The more relevant a site is to your site, the better.

•    Many have concluded that a sites PR will rub off on you. So if you link to a PR5 site, that will help, But only a little bit.

 I think it's something like .00001 % of that PR that rubs off. It's very minor.

•    There are other factors involved in calculating PageRank that no one knows except Google.

But willing to bet, that much of it is do to the quality of the websites linking to you.

It's not how many sites that link to you, it's the quality and relevancy that matters.

•    Bad sites linking to you will not hurt you.

 Many people have the impression that they should only get inbound links for PR5 or better sites.

 This is hog wash.

These will help you, but the lesser sites won't hurt you. If that were the case, your competition would link to you from 100s of crappy sites to bring your PR down.

Some Common Terms and Definitions:

PR4 - Google ranks pages by how many inbound links you're getting. PR stands for PageRank.

PageRank has a scale from 1-10... PR4 is pretty good. (PageRank Explained)

Anchor Text - Use the link above as an example... PageRank Explained is anchor text.

The link itself is hidden. It's just the text that you see on the page that links somewhere else if you click it.

Meta Tags - This is code embedded in a web page that tells the visiting Search Engines stuff about the page (title, description, keywords)


Keyword Density - All that's referring to is how many times certain words and phrases occur on a page.

Fresh Content - This is updating or changing text regularly on a Web Page.

BLs - Back Links - These are links that are coming from other websites to your website.
Static - Nothing changes on that page (no fresh content ever)

JVs - Joint Ventures - 2 or more people get together to help each other promote and make money.

Pay Per Click Advertising - It's advertising you will see in your search results from Search Engines such as Google, Yahoo Advertising, Bidvertizer, etc.

 They call them Sponsored Links. When people click on those ads, the advertiser is charged a few sense or dollars.

Spider Bots - It's a program that visits websites to find content and index that content into the Search Engine's Results pages.

SEs - Search Engines

Nibble On - Giving the Search Engines a little fresh content to index and keep them coming back hopefully.

7 Tips That Can Motivate Children To Love Education

Children at their earliest ages should learn and realize the importance of education to their lives. However, there are just some kids who try to resist the norm and insist on doing things their way. 

How could you motivate your children or teens to treat education as a necessary preparation for their future? Here are some practical and proven effective guidelines.

1. Teach the value of education early in a child’s life.

Children are naturally curious and observant. They may be wondering why you love reading books or magazines. Tell them that they need to learn to read to be able to also share such enjoyment. 

It would help if you would tell your children on a daily basis how important getting a good education is in attaining goals and dreams in life.

2. Be creative when teaching children during their formative years.

 If you are not a teacher in profession, you could still strive to be an effective home tutor to your kids. You see, as a parent, you should also learn how to make your children enjoy learning and studying. You could impose play and fun activities at home to make children realize that learning is not as boring as they think.

3. Take your children to educational yet fun parks.

 Instead of taking them to the malls to stroll, why not take them to a museum, a science center, or a zoo for a change?

When they get more curious about things, tell them they would know more if they would continue getting education. This strategy would certainly make them more motivated to learn and study.

4. Introduce the computer to children.

 Computers never fail to amaze people, especially young children. It seems that this is a computer generation.

Of course, emphasize to your kids that they could not in any way exploit the potential of computers and the Internet without getting necessary education.

In no time, you would hear them asking you how they could learn more. By that time, you should realize that the ball is in your hands.

5. Take your children to the streets where there are vagabonds and beggars.

This may not sound very nice, but you could tell your children they could end up like those unfortunate people if they fail to get necessary education. You could surely instantly see the frights in their faces, for sure.

6. How about applying education or learning to daily activities?

 You could incorporate mathematics to daily tasks and situations. Their love for learning could start if you rely on them in doing specific tasks. Incorporate counting, reading, and writing on those simple tasks. For example, you take them to the market and make them buy certain items (like 5 apples, 10 oranges, and the likes). At the end of the day, you could see them get the thrill and satisfaction.

7. Enroll your children to the most reputable and effective schools.

 Traditionally, parents treat schooling of children as investments. If you want them to love education, make sure to place them into an environment that would foster comfort, fun, and learning at the same time. 

Do not hesitate because of high costs. Most of the time, the best and most effective schools call for premium in their quality of education. If it would make your children better individuals, why not spend for it?
