How To Brace Up For The Unexpected !

Do you have a strategy? From my observations so far, many people come online with little plan or without much of any strategy at all.

Many times some people also get stuck using some other peoples strategies, without developing their own based on their needs, abilities and environment as this tend to always vary.

It is very important to understand that those teaching things online, are mostly doing what they know or have been successful with themselves.
It is not necessarily the path YOU must follow or the only path to take.

For example, I use a combination of strategies and strongly use the old saying, “Don’t put all your eggs in one basket.” I just saw someone the other day freaking out because a web host was wiping out his business.

This is unfortunate. Many of his websites went down and were no longer online, This really crushed his income and his overnight efforts to put up these sites.

Why? Because he had all his eggs in the Host basket! The internet is the type of place that can make changes that you don't expect as anyone may think, it may have no rhyme or reason and this simply just happens. We may think we actually have control of everything, but we really don’t, Our control is still limited. That’s why we must diversify

Have a strategy that takes into account these unexpected type of things. Don’t do just one thing… Let me rephrase that… You can do one thing, but make sure that you are covered within that one thing, let's call it a plan B. For instance if you depend on Blogging for 100% of your income, that’s fine, but many don't, it's mostly done on part time basis :) .

Just make sure that you are not doing just one thing within that. Make sure you are not in one market or are driving traffic one way. Things are in a continuous state of change online. You must brace yourself for that change.

Make sure you have a strategy and you aren’t just mesmerized by some opportunity and you lose sight of the big picture. This is a business not just a way to make some quick cash… it can be, but generally I think most of us want to have long term results and not live on the edge.

So have some sort of strategy in place for your business that insulates you from the environment. You should have a short term, medium and long term strategy. Where do you see yourself in 1 month, 7 months, 3 years? How are you going to get there? There are things we do to live or make money now, but there are also things we should build now that will blossom in the future to offer long term stability.

Just sit down for a few minutes and write down some of your goals and what you want out of your business. After you know what you want and have taken into consideration the environment, map out how your are going to get there.

If you do this, you will not only find stability over the long term, but you will find peace of mind. Enjoy your day.
